Veterans Food Pantry

Our veteran pantry operates with funds received from private donors, community grants, and community food drives. Our pantry features healthy options which include protein, dairy, and fresh produce for participating veterans. Veterans can also find hygiene and cleaning products that may not fall in their household budget. Our veteran pantry is available by appointment only to provide veterans with a comfortable shopping experience.

Food insecurity in veterans is a challenge that extends beyond hunger—it's a barrier to health, stability, and well-being. At Wounded Warrior Homes, we're dedicated to not just feeding veterans but nurturing their overall health and hope for a better future. We recognize the critical link between nutrition and health. Inadequate nutrition can lead to a range of chronic health issues, which is one of several challenges that veterans can encounter. Our mission strives to offer nutritionally balanced food options that support physical and mental well-being, helping to mitigate the risk of health complications.

Healthy meals are an essential need for the veterans in our transitional housing program. Wounded Warrior Homes has partnered with North Country Food Bank and Feeding San Diego to provide veterans with the critical supplies to support their transition. Our fully stocked food pantry for veterans is primarily dedicated to those already enrolled in our program, but is available to any veteran who registers. We provide a range of items, available on a first-come, first-served basis, to support the nutritional needs of our community. If you are a veteran in need of food assistance in the San Marcos area, contact info@woundedwarriorhomes.org to get registered for the pantry.

We Even Have ANIMEALS

Wounded Warrior Homes is also a proud partner and supporter of the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s AniMeals program. AniMeals provides food to the animals owned by the veterans in our program.

Our food pantry even features bags of food for our four-legged veterans, because supporting veterans also means helping care for the companions who are by their side every day. Pet food assistance is available when you register for the food pantry.

Veterans who register for our food pantry can access available pet food alongside groceries and other essential pantry items. Availability may vary depending on current donations and inventory.

How Can You Get Involved In Our Veterans Food Assistance Program

Your generosity helps us maintain safe housing, provide daily essentials, and ensure our veterans never go without the basic necessities they deserve.

Food donations are a great way to support our program. We accept all forms of packaged/sealed food and are equipped for refrigerated and frozen storage as well as for shelf-stable items. By providing our veterans with day-to-day essentials, we can make their transition even more successful.

Looking for inspiration on what to get? Take a look at our Amazon wishlist for the food pantry. Our list includes essential items that directly support the veterans and families we serve — from household supplies and hygiene products to pantry staples and service animal needs. Every item purchased is shipped directly to us and immediately put to use.
