Taking applications at the Women Veteran Center
At Wounded Warrior Homes, every transition matters — both the beginnings and the next chapters.
We currently have an immediate opening at our Women Veterans Center for a woman veteran with a child or children who is seeking safe, supportive housing. This space is available now, and we are actively welcoming referrals for a family ready to take the next step toward stability.
Our Women Veterans Center was created to provide more than just housing. It is a place where women veterans and their children can feel safe, supported, and empowered as they rebuild and move forward. We understand that many women veterans face unique challenges after service, especially when balancing parenthood, education, employment, and healing. Our goal is to provide a stable foundation so families can focus on growth and long-term independence.
This opening comes as we proudly celebrate a recent success story.
One of our women veterans recently transitioned out of the program after reaching an important milestone. While living at the Women Veterans Center, she pursued her education, working toward becoming a nurse, all while raising her two children. During her time with us, she demonstrated resilience, dedication, and determination — not only for herself, but for her family. We are proud to share that she has now successfully completed her program and is officially a Registered Nurse (RN), stepping into a new chapter filled with opportunity and stability for her and her children. She has now accepted a great job opportunity elsewhere, allowing her to move forward into the next chapter of her life. We could not be more proud of her and all that she has accomplished. Her journey reflects exactly why this program exists: to provide temporary support that leads to lasting independence.
As one family moves forward, we are ready to open our doors to another.
If you are a woman veteran with a child or children who may benefit from this opportunity — or if you know someone who might — we encourage you to reach out. Our team is ready to provide information, answer questions, and help determine eligibility.
This opening is more than a room becoming available. It is an opportunity for a family to find stability, safety, and support during a critical time — and to begin writing their own success story.
