A Special Thanks to the Navy Nurse Corps Association of Southern California (NNCASC)

This past Wednesday, our Executive Director Rick Espitia had the opportunity to speak with the Navy Nurse Corps Association of Southern California (NNCASC). It wasn’t just a presentation. It was a meaningful conversation about the challenges many veterans face, especially the women who have served.

Rick shared the vision behind our upcoming Women Veterans Center in Escondido. This home will be a safe, welcoming place where women veterans can begin again with dignity and support. Too often, their needs are overlooked. We are working to change that by offering not just a place to stay, but a true sense of belonging and care.

He also spoke about our broader mission to serve veterans through housing, food assistance, and mental health support. One of the newest additions to our services is Operation Mental Health - a program focused on increasing access to mental health resources for veterans navigating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other challenges. It's another step in making sure veterans don’t fall through the cracks and have the support they need to heal.

We are deeply grateful to NNCASC for welcoming us and for their generous donation to support this important work. Their kindness and commitment to fellow service members is truly inspiring.

We look forward to sharing more as the Women Veterans Center gets closer to opening. Thank you to everyone who continues to walk alongside us in this mission.
