Women Veterans Center in Escondido Now Accepting Applications

We’re proud to share that our Women Veterans Center in Escondido is officially open and now welcoming applications for free transitional housing. CBS 8 recently highlighted this important milestone, and we’re grateful to see the word spreading about the first home of its kind in San Diego County.

This center was created to serve women veterans who are navigating the transition from military to civilian life. Too often, women veterans face unique challenges - including housing insecurity, limited resources, and difficulty finding support that truly fits their needs.. Our mission is to change that.

“This house represents more than just a place to stay - it’s a fresh start,” shared our Executive Director, Rick Espitia, in the CBS 8 feature. “We want every veteran who walks through these doors to feel supported, empowered, and ready for the next chapter.”

We know that the journey home doesn’t end with military service. It continues in the communities where veterans live, work, and raise their families. That’s why creating a welcoming, women-focused space matters so deeply.

Eligibility

The Women Veterans Center is open to women veterans with a strong desire to pursue education, employment, and future goals. Applicants must be transitioning from active duty or already veterans with an honorable discharge, and be free of substance abuse. Women with or without children are encouraged to apply.
